What about the nudity?
The wine comes in a sealed box with a cut-out window that covers up Marilyn's naughty bits. Buy the the wine and you get the pleasure of undressing the lady, peeling off the red sparkling plastic label that keeps her decent. The Velvet Collection is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot wines from Napa Valley made by winemaker John McKay.

Marilyn Wines' prior releases, which always sell out quickly, have been great wine investments for collectors. A 12-bottle vertical wine collection featuring one of each Marilyn Merlot released from 1985 through 1996 currently fetches $7,000.
The Velvet Collection is expected to be even more collectable than prior lines due to the racy and unique nature of the labels, as well as the sealed packaging for each of the individually numbered, limited-edition 1.5 liter bottles to be released
retail prices over $1000.

The 2002 vintage is available in luxuriously boxed and individually numbered magnums.
The collectability of these wines was assured from the start, but it has become even more precious since the majority of the Velvet Collection 2002 and 2003 vintages were stored in the Mare Island warehouse which in the San Francisco Bay Area. Luckily for the winery, the Merlot and other wines were stored elsewhere.

2003 Marilyn Velvet Collection Red Blend
Medium to dark garnet in the glass, this wine has a dark nose of black cherry, chocolate, and cola aromas. In the mouth it is lush and full with primary flavors of black cherry, chocolate, and hints of spices supported by very fine, dusty tannins that seem well aged already. The wine is well integrated and poised, with a decent finish.
Each label of Velvet Collection wine is covered with a protective gold or red
(depending on the year)
vinyl overlay that, when removed, reveals the complete, original portrait.
The Velvet Collection wines are as sumptuous, inviting, and rare as the images of Marilyn Monroe that grace their labels, and are sure to find favor with connoisseurs and collectors alike.
Therefore this bottle has become highly sought after as a collectors bottle and would make a great addition to your collection.
If you are looking for something really special for the person who has everything or is impossible to shop for, This might make a perfect gift. You will not find this rare collectable even in the best stores.
