On the 1986 Marilyn Merlot, Marilyn Monroe is wearing the gold lame Travilla gown from the movie, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes".
Marilyn Monroe continues to capture the imagination of our culture. Perhaps this will fade over time, but for now, Marilyn fever still runs high.
Therefore this bottle has become highly sought after as a collectors bottle and would make a great addition to your collection.
Since 1985, each disinctive vintage of Marilyn Merlot has featured a unique lable based on a photograph of Marilyn Monroe and designed by Susann Ortega of Ortega Design Studio.
Each new vintage is released on Marilyn Monroe's birthday, June 1st, and sells out quickly. Collectors have made Marilyn Merlot one of the fastest apprreciating wines on the market, as twelve-bottle sets of 1985 through 1996 vintages continue to grow in value and are now selling for $7,000.
These wines had the single highest collector value of any modern California wine, even wines that sell for ten times its price.
These prices continue to climb every year.
