1998 Marilyn Cabernet
Release date: Fall, 2002
The 1998 vintage Marilyn Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 12% Merlot, all from the heart of the Napa Valley.
Two years of bottle aging have given this wine a rich garnet color. An extra year of aging in French oak contributed complexity, well-integrated aromas of mature black fruits, and subtle oak to the wine. This wine is full-bodied, balanced, and nicely framed by mature tannins. It will continue to develop for another 5 to 7 years.
This is the first of five vintages in our Second Marilyn Cabernet Collection each featuring a unique label. Only 400 cases were produced.

Marilyn Monroe continues to capture the imagination of our culture. Perhaps this will fade over time, but for now, Marilyn fever still runs high.
Therefore this bottle has become highly sought after as a collectors bottle and would make a great addition to your collection.
these wines had the single highest collector value of any modern California wine, even wines that sell for ten times its price. The inaugural vintage, sold for around twenty bucks, now commands a staggering $3500 per bottle at auction, while a 12 year vertical from '85 to '96 will run you $7,000.
These prices continue to climb every year.
